The Observing Children course is offered in the
second block of the ECE program concurrently with the Overall Child Development
2 course. The role of this course is to introduce and develop the skills and
techniques necessary to observe children in various settings. By analyzing
behaviour, interactions, and developmental milestones, students will gain
insights into the developmental spheres and growth of children. Observations
are used to inform planning and practice in educational childcare settings. This course introduces competency FK1D which
developed further in the Internship Initiation course.
