This
course gives the student a comprehensive understanding of the composition of
small animal diets and a basic knowledge of the common feeding practices used
in domestic animals. Major emphasis will be placed on the nutrition of the cat and
dog including the therapeutic feeding requirements associated with various life
stages, clinical and diseased states. Students will be able to provide owners with
clear nutritional recommendations and feeding requirements adapted to specific
pet’s needs.
