This planet appears familiar yet alien to us at different times. It is vast and in many regions, barely explored.
This introductory course introduces some tools for studying aspects of our physical and human environment. Geography is about where things are and how they got there. There needs be some history also...
We begin with a brief history of the subject then consider our planet and how we divide it for more detailed study. This includes biomes, lines of longitude and latitude, and climate and general wind patterns. The second part of the course focusses on population geography, demographics and how they relate to the growth of cities.
