In Marketing Research, students will learn about and use marketing research tools and techniques to gather and create marketing information. Secondary research—such sources as the Internet, Statistics Canada, periodicals—and primary research –experimentation, observation, and surveying—will be explored. 

Marketing Research is a course that will require students to draw upon the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the courses Introduction to Business, Marketing, Business Data Analysis and, concurrently, Consumer Behaviour.

This class provides students with a foundational understanding of marketing principles and practices. Topics covered include market analysis, consumer behaviour, branding, integrated marketing communications, digital marketing, marketing strategy and the marketing mix (product, price, place, and promotion).

The course explores how businesses create value for customers and build relationships, as well as the role of marketing in driving business growth. Through real-world examples and case studies, students gain practical insights into the strategies and tactics used by companies to reach target audiences and achieve competitive advantages.

This course is designed to introduce the student to the field of marketing communications. The emphasis in this course will be on the integrated marketing communications program of an organization. Attention will be given to the various tools used in contemporary marketing communications including: advertising, direct marketing, online and interactive marketing, sales promotion, publicity, public relations, and personal selling. The course will also examine the process by which integrated marketing communication programs are planned, developed, and executed as well as the various factors that influence this process. From a practical perspective, the objective of this course is to answer the following question, “How do I successfully design and deliver a marketing communications campaign?”
